Aion 2 at Gamescom 2026 Show Floor (Aug 26-30): What to Expect

Gamescom's public show floor opened on August 26 and runs through August 30 at Koelnmesse, Cologne. NC's participation is confirmed for the event, with Aion 2 featured alongside its other upcoming titles.

For players who cannot attend, the practical value of the floor week is the wave of hands-on impressions, booth photos, and developer interviews published by gaming press channels through the week.

Treat the show floor as the live extension of the August 25 Opening Night Live: expect gameplay footage, additional details, and community Q&A to emerge over the four floor days.

On August 26, Aion 2 released an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary via the Future Games Show, walking players through the game's development. It is the clearest single piece of new media from the week after the ONL trailer.

Documentaries of this type typically combine developer interviews, concept art, and early footage — a good way to see the team's intent beyond the polished trailer.

Watch it on the official AION 2 channels or the Future Games Show; it is a strong, free way to get closer to the game ahead of early access.

Opening Night Live on August 25 gave Aion 2 its featured slot: a new official gameplay trailer emphasizing hybrid action-flight combat, customization, and faction PvP. No brand-new system was announced during the segment; it consolidated the confirmed pitch.

The floor week follows up on that momentum rather than replacing it. Between the trailer and the documentary, the week has given global players their fullest look at the game ahead of launch.

For a full breakdown of the ONL segment, see our Opening Night Live recap.

All of this Gamescom activity sits on top of the confirmed October 5 free-to-play launch (early access September 30). NC is using the show to keep Aion 2 front-of-mind in the six-week run-up to launch.

Practical takeaway: follow the official channels during the floor week for any late-stage announcements — server names, opening hours, or preload timing often surface around events like this.

Our release date report tracks those details as they land.

Follow the AION 2 official X account and Steam page for announcements, and watch the Future Games Show for the documentary. Gaming press hands-on coverage will appear on the usual sites through the week.

The KINA news hub will collect the week's Aion 2 coverage as it publishes, so you can check back here for a consolidated view instead of chasing individual outlets.

After the floor closes on August 30, the next milestone is early access on September 30 — and we will keep this guide updated with anything Gamescom reveals before then.
