Aion 2 Global Membership Guide: The $15 Subscription, What It Covers, and Founder's Packs With 30 Days

During the September 7 Gamescom interview, NCsoft confirmed that Aion 2's global build consolidates the original dual subscription system into a single membership at $15 — and that every Founder's Pack now includes a 30-day membership. This guide lays out what the membership actually covers and who should buy it.

One Subscription, $15: The Consolidation

Andrew Long explained the change: 'The original version of the game had a dual subscription system, and for the global version we consolidated those subscriptions and reduced the price point to $15.'

The move was 'heavily driven by player feedback' — a single tier instead of two overlapping subscriptions, priced at a round $15 per month for the global service.

02

What the Membership Covers

Per the September 6 Gamescom briefing and the interview, the membership mainly serves active endgame players: player-to-player trading on the marketplace requires it, and it adds convenience benefits around the warehouse and certain repeatable activities.

The premium currency can — under conditions — be traded on the marketplace, with the full economy features tied to membership. Cosmetics and consumables in the shop remain purchasable without it, and dungeons, raids, and PvP are not gated by the subscription.

03

Founder's Packs Now Include 30 Days

NC also responded to feedback that membership was missing from Founder's Packs: an official Steam announcement confirms 'all Founder's Packs purchased previously and moving forward will include a 30-day membership,' with perks to assist your journey through Atreia.

Because the change is retroactive, players who already bought a pack get the 30 days without paying again — worth checking your Steam inventory for the bundled membership before launch.

04

Free vs. Membership: What You Actually Lose

Without membership you can still fully outfit your character: quests, solo and 4-player dungeons, crafting, and drops cover gear progression, and the Abyss PvP area has no daily time limit for free players.

What you give up is the player economy — buying and trading certain items from other players on the marketplace — plus warehouse conveniences. The site's free gear progression guide covers the zero-spend route in detail.

05

Should You Buy It?

Buy it if you plan to be a heavy endgame trader: marketplace access is the membership's core value, and $15 a month is competitive with other MMO subscriptions.

Skip it if you play casually or solo: the free route covers content, progression, and PvP, and you can always upgrade after launch — membership is not required to enjoy the October 5 release.
