AION 2 Daeva Pass 'Invitation to the Abyss': Price, XP Rates, and the Two Deadlines

The Daeva Pass attached to the September 16 Korean update is the most explicit price list NCsoft has published for AION 2's progression layer. It is called 'Invitation to the Abyss', it has two purchase tiers, a forty-level track, a weekly experience cap per character, and two different end dates — one for buying and one for collecting. Read together they define how much of the pass a normal weekly schedule can actually finish.

Two Tiers, Two Deadlines

The pass is sold from the in-game menu under the subscription section. The base track costs 1,000,000 Kinah, the currency you earn in game, and grants the mission and reward loop for the period, limited to one purchase per character. The premium track costs 500 Quna, the charged currency, and adds five bound Ode Energy items on top of the same mission loop — also once per character.

The calendar has two different ends, and confusing them loses rewards. Purchases close at 05:00 on October 6. Missions can be completed and rewards collected until the regular maintenance on October 7. Buying late is therefore survivable; leaving premium reward tiers unclaimed after the purchase window is not.

A fourth number belongs to this section: pass levels can be bought outright at 50 Quna per level. At the maximum track of forty levels, buying the entire track rather than playing it would cost 2,000 Quna, which is the price of roughly four premium passes. NCsoft is pricing skipping the grind well above doing the work.

What Actually Generates Pass XP

The published rate table puts the heavy rewards on the content that takes the longest. A completed sanctuary run is worth 700 pass XP, and clearing an expedition or transcendence tier is worth 300. Everything else is smaller by an order of magnitude: killing a player from the opposing faction gives 100, killing monsters gives 50 for every ten, a successful gather 30, a successful craft 20, and binding gear a soul inscription, extracting gear, or a successful enhancement each give 10 to 20.

That table is capped: the notes state a ceiling of 12,000 XP per character per week, which converts the pass into a per-character weekly budget rather than a single account-wide race. Sanctuary clears are the only activity whose rate makes the cap reachable in a short session, and they are also the activity the same patch made cheaper on one difficulty tier.

The practical reading is that the pass rewards engagement breadth, not depth. If you only run sanctuaries, you will hit the weekly ceiling quickly and waste nothing, but you also cannot push past it with a second hobby activity. If you play the small actions — gathering, crafting, enhancement — you will need to actually do volume, because those rates are one-tenth to one-seventieth of a sanctuary clear.

03

How the Track and the Reward Gap Work

Completing missions during the period feeds pass experience, each level pays a reward, and the track ends at level forty. Experience gained past forty is not lost; the notes say additional levels beyond the cap grant repeating rewards instead. The premium track pays the same route at higher quantities, and the divergence starts early.

Looking at the published early rows, both tiers give Ode Energy items, but the free track pays the small version while premium pays the full version — and at the milestone rows the premium track pays two to three times the quantity, such as three challenge tickets where the free track gives one, or five instant-completion tickets for daily dungeons against three.

Level ten is instructive because both tiers pay the identical stacked choice box, which means that row is a retention hook rather than a premium selling point. The premium value is concentrated in currency and consumable quantities, not in exclusive reward types — a distinction worth knowing before you decide which tier to open.

04

Deciding Without Regret

Base the decision on the cap, not on the reward art. Twelve thousand XP per character per week over the pass window is a known budget; multiply it by how many characters you actually play and by how many of those weeks you will be online. If your realistic schedule cannot reach level forty, the premium track is buying faster delivery of the same items, not better items.

The free Kinah track is the one that asks a different question. One million Kinah is a real sum for a fresh character, and the track pays back in the same currency plus consumables, so its value depends on whether you would have bought those consumables anyway or would rather hold Kinah for the market.

Two cautions. The pass is Korean and Taiwanese service programming on Chapter 1 content, and NCsoft has not attached any global-launch price or date to it, so treat it as evidence of how the systems work rather than as a promise about your launch month. And watch the deadline pair: purchase at 05:00 on October 6, collection until the October 7 maintenance — the second date is the one people lose.

If you want the same structure explained for the launch window, the earlier pass coverage on this site walks through how the track is organised across a season, and the monetisation guide places the pass against the subscription and marketplace layers it sits beside.
